Training
The most effective way to achieve your goals! With your trainer you will complete a basic health assessment, this is a compulsory part of our service. We need to identify exactly where you are, what you want and how we can get you there. Our trainers design programmes specifically tailored for you, we will keep a record of your progress and continue to challenge your body every step of the way! There are a mixture of types of training that we tailor to each individual.
Aerobic Conditioning
There are different methods of aerobic training which include skipping, cycling, running and swimming - all designed to increase the bodys demand for oxygen over a sustained period of time. Aerobic exercise has many benefits that include: a decreased risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduced body fat content, improved muscle tone aswell as the psychological benefits of an improved self image, improved ability to relax, improved mental alertness and self confidence.
Resistance Training
Another term is weight training with many benefits especially for weight loss for women, increased muscular endurance and strength, for women especially later in life an increased bone density which can help prevent Osteoporosis(brittle bone disease), injury prevention - it has long been proven that stronger muscles, ligaments, joints and tendons lead to a decreased risk of injury in training or sporting activities.
Flexibility & Stretching
Flexibility is a measure of the range of motion available at a joint or a group of joints. Often an overlooked or neglected part of a training programme that can often lead to joint stiffness, muscles shorten from disuse, injury or disease. A regular flexibility programme can give a person numerous benefits such as a reduced risk of injury, relaxation, stress reduction and an improved body awareness, excellent for rehabilitation after any injuries.
Sports Specific
Our trainers have extensive experience in working with all manner of Sports Activities whether in or out of season: Rugby, Football, Tennis and so forth.
Nutrition
No matter what you do in the gym or training wise, if you put the wrong kind of food in - you wont see the results you want. We will help guide you into a healthy eating lifestyle change that will benefit your training. You are what you eat as they say!
Ante/Post Natal
We have extensive experience with pre/post natal exercise protocols. We help expectant mothers maintain a healthy body weight throughout and after pregnancy.
Scientific study and experience have shown us that specific graded exercise can help to limit weight gain, improve energy levels and general well-being both during and after pregnancy. We offer this type of training on a one to one basis or a small group of 5 people.
Group Exercise
Sometimes you might like to share the experience with other people. The feeling of achieving a goal within a group can be a real buzz. Or if you need a little bit more competition, then group exercise could be the one for you. Please contact us to discuss these options.
